Men's Track and Field (Sprints, Hurdles, Jumps)

The Mules return from Maine State Championship

Brunswick, Maine - The Colby Track and Field Team competed at the State of Maine Championship, with both the Men's and Women's team placing fourth out of eight teams. 

In the Women's 60 meters race, Simone WaheedCharlotte Brake-Hoffman, and Tally Zeller were qualified for finals. They each were placed in first, third and fifth, finishing in 7.82, 7.95, and 7.97 respectively. Fiona Mejico was placed first in the 200 meters race, finishing in 25.48. Mia Sullivan was also placed first in the 500 meters race, finishing in 1:01.73. Tally Zeller, Charlotte Brake-Hoffman, Fiona Mejico, and Mia Sullivan finished the 4 x 200 relay in 1:43.35, placing them first among eight teams. Maddie Bush, Claire Beebe, Noe Nalavala, and Margo Kenyon finished the 4 x 800 relay in 10:02.95, which placed them second among six teams. Kaitlyn Ewald was placed third with a jump of 5.21 meters, along with Sarah Lenox and Ariel Estime tied thirteenth with a jump of 4.43 meters. 

In the Men's 60 meters race, Terrel Hood-Simeon was qualified for finals and was placed second, finishing in 6.94. For the 400 meters race, Jackson Coelho and Peter Martel, each were paced in third and fifth, finishing in 50.91 and 51.04 respectively. Ren Zanze was placed first in the 600 meters race, finishing 1:21.42, which also sets a new indoor school record. In the 1000 meters race, Henry Reichle was placed first and finished in 2:31.43. Levi Biery was the only Colby runner qualified for the 60 meters hurdles, finishing in 8.79 and placing him fifth in the race.     Sam Graubart, Jackson Coelho, Levi Biery, and Reeve Derby finished the 4 x 400 relay in 3:29.17, placing them second out of six teams. In the pole vault, Lexington Lehnert led the way for Colby, clearing 4.60m and placing him third, along with Logan Lehnert clearing 4.60m and placing him fourth. In the long jump, Myles Thornton-Sherman and Alex Lyon each placed fourteenth and twenty-first out of thirty four other long-jumpers, with a mark of 6.11 meters and 5.57 meters respectively. 

The Mules will be competing later this week on Friday, February 14 at Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. and at Lynn Ruddy Invitational in Brunswick, Maine.
