*Colby College has updated its VISITOR and SPECTATOR POLICY: (updated 6.8.22)
The College is currently welcoming visitors and spectators at all events and competitions, with the following guidelines:
- All visitors are welcome to attend home games. For away games, please check the host institution policies.
- Outdoor and indoor tailgating is allowed at home events. For information on approved indoor tailgating activities, please contact Pat Ratke at pmratke@colby.edu, 207-859-4905.
- Dogs and other pets are not permitted inside the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center, with the exception of service animals. Dogs and other pets are permitted at outdoor facilities, but are required to be leashed at all times.

NESCAC CODE OF CONDUCT: The NESCAC and the NCAA promote good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial, sexist, homophobic, or other derogatory comments, or other intimidating action directed at officials, spectators, student-athletes, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition. Also, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited at the site of competitions.
The following guidelines have been established for guest behavior to support fan friendly environment suitable for all ages, free from the following behaviors:
· Standing on seats or sitting in aisle ways, or standing or sitting within the game management areas or on the field, is prohibited.
· Individuals requiring ADA seating should be given priority of all accessible seating, including companion seats.
· Disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language, obscene gestures, or use of derogatory language will not be tolerated. Any type of derogatory language should be reported immediately to a college official.
*Derogatory language means offensive language concerning another person’s race, color, ethnicity, sex, gender, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or national origin.
· Any disruption to the progress of the event by guests’ actions, including interference with the competition on the field.
· Fighting, horseplay, excessive taunting or threatening remarks or gestures
· Throwing Objects
· Attempts to enter the field of play or to cause objects to enter the field of play.
· Displays of affection not appropriate to a public, family setting in the State of Maine.
· Violation of Colby College Smoking & Tobacco Policy (Colby is a smoke free Campus).
· Non-compliance with requests from college staff, security or police regarding operations or emergency response procedures.
· Vandalizing, damaging or otherwise defacing any part of Colby College’s Athletic Complex
The college staff has been instructed to work in unison with guests and to intervene when necessary to help ensure that the above expectations are met. Guests are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior to any game day staff, college representative or by contacting the college public safety office (207-859-4000).
Behavior in violation of the Guest Conduct Policy may result in the guest being ejected from the game, barred or trespassed from the college campus, arrested by police and subject to possible prosecution from the campus.
