The purpose of the Colby Strength & Conditioning department is to provide Colby student-athletes with a safe, well-rounded, and comprehensive strength and conditioning program which prepares them for their respective sports, as well as for life after college.

The Colby Strength & Conditioning staff uses programming methodology based upon current research, as well as applied experience and knowledge, to support Colby College student-athletes with progressive year-round programming. A large emphasis is placed on performing compound movements with strong technique to get the largest training effect in a safe and productive manner.  The strength and conditioning program also utilizes technological components such as Tendo Units, Brower Tendo Units, and Hawkin Dynamic force plates. The goal of Colby Strength and Conditioning is to provide the athletes the preparation necessary to handle the demands of practice and competition. As a department we strive to communicate effectively, while putting the student athlete first within a process-oriented system that emphasizes long term development.  In terms of student athlete experience, we believe in creating an environment that fosters accountability, self-growth, and empowers our student-athletes to give their best effort every day.
