Norton, Mass. - Competing at the Lyon Invitational hosted by Wheaton College, the Colby College track & field teams delivered strong performances across sprints, middle distance, relays, and field events, highlighted by a second-place finish by the women's squad and a fourth-place showing by the men.
The women placed second out of seven teams, led by
Kaitlyn Ewald's victory in the 200 meters in 26.42.
Simone Waheed and
Charlotte Brake-Hoffman added podium finishes in the 60 meters, placing second and third, respectively, while
Michelle Barnes earned second in the 800 meters. Colby also captured the 4x200 relay, as
Alex Hermsdorff,
Tally Zeller, Ewald, and Brake-Hoffman combined for a winning time of 1:43.59. In the field,
Josie Hopkins claimed first in the long jump with a mark of 5.08 meters.
On the men's side, Colby finished fourth among seven teams.
Jake Hall highlighted the sprint events with a win in the 200 meters, while Sam Graubart placed second in the 800 meters.
Levi Biery and
Patrick Kuprewicz finished second and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, and
Logan Sullivan secured a victory in the high jump. The Mules also posted strong results in the pole vault, with
Lexington Lehnert taking second,
Wyatt Patterson third, and
Logan Lehnert fourth.
