Biography

Why I chose Colby:  I planned on competing in a D1 gymnastics program but after a career ending injury I was recruited to pole vault for the Colby Track team and I accepted as Colby has the academic rigor that I need.

Major:  Astrophysics and Biochemistry

Favorite Place on Campus:  Lorimer Chapel

Most Memorable Team Experience:  My sophomore year spring trip to Emory we did a 24 hour bus ride down and back, I’ve never been closer with the team.

Favorite Professional Athlete:  Frederick Richard

Favorite Pre-Game Meal or Snack:  Garlic butter Ribeye from Chili’s

Game Day Superstition:  If music isn’t playing during vault warm ups I will run through on the first jump of the meet.

Internship/Work Experience:  I’ve participated in several research projects at several universities, most notably I worked in the Bevilacqua Lab at Penn state where I investigated the role of functional RNA in the origins of life.

Plans After Colby:  I plan to enter into a PhD program focused on early microbial evolution and the origins of life.
