Atlanta, Ga. - As spring break comes to an end, the Mules finished off the week in Emory University for the Emory Thrills in the Hills 2025.
In the women's 100m,
Simone Waheed got first in preliminaries and second in finals with times of 11.87 and 11.93 seconds, breaking the school record. Waheed also got second place in the 200m race, breaking the school record with a time of 24.81, followed by
Fiona Mejico in fifth place, third in Colby history with a time of 24.95 seconds, and
Tally Zeller in twelfth place, tenth in Colby history with a time of 25.50 seconds. In the 400m race,
Olivia Doherty got third place with a time of 58.12 seconds. In the 10k race,
Abbey Wolfe took first place in 41:12.38. In the 400m hurdles,
Michelle Barnes was placed second with a time of 1:05.43, followed by
Quinn Cushing in ninth place with a time of 1:09.61. Colby athletes performed marvelously in the relay races, with
Tally Zeller,
Fiona Mejico,
Simone Waheed, and
Charlotte Brake-Hoffman getting second place in the 4x100m relay with a time of 46.79, second in Colby history, and
Tally Zeller,
Olivia Doherty,
Kaitlyn Ewald, and
Fiona Mejico taking first place in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:44.14, breaking the school record.
Sarah Lenox got fifth place in Heptathlon with 2930 points.
In the men's 100m, Ian irwin got tenth place with a time of 10.71 seconds, third in Colby history. In the 200m race,
Ian Irwin got eighth place with a time of 21.60, breaking the school record, followed by
Peter Martel in twelfth place, fifth in Colby history with a time of 21.78 seconds. in the 400m race,
Peter Martel got fifth place and ninth in Colby history with a time of 49.29, followed by
Jackson Coelho and Sam Graubart in seventh and nineth place, each with times of 49.66 and 50.04 seconds. In the 1500m race,
Henry Reichle got seventh place with a time of 3:58.30. In the 110m hurdles,
Levi Biery got second place in preliminaries with a time of 15.26 seconds, and took first place in finals 14.94 seconds. Biery also got first place in the 400m hurdles, second in Colby history, with a time of 52.19 seconds. In the 4x400m relay,
Jackson Coelho,
Peter Martel, Sam Graubart, and
Levi Biery took first place, broke the school record, with a time of 3:14.24. In the 3000m steeplechase,
Brady Clegg and
Greydon Gavin each got third and seventh place, with times of 9:35.65 and 10:31.35.
For field events,
Peter Martel and
Logan Lehnert each got second and third place, cleared heights of 4.60m and 4.45m.
Ernest Obiorah got second place in discus, reaching 45.49m. In decathlon,
Myles Thornton-Sherman got fourth place with 5879 point, third in Colby history, followed by
Milan Joshi and
Alex Lyon in sixth and eighth place, with 4653 and 4432 points.
