Waterville, ME - Riding the momentum from last week's thrilling victory over Amherst, the Mules carried their confidence into a commanding 9–0 win over Saint Lawrence on Saturday.
Colby's depth proved decisive, as the middle of the lineup delivered a string of emphatic straight-game victories.
Omar Bastawy '29,
Youssef Mostafa '26,
Timo Radionov '28,
Avery Rosenberg '27, and
Sebastian Campos '26 each earned 3–0 wins from the No. 4 through No. 8 positions. While several matches featured tight games decided by narrow 12–10 and 11–9 margins, the Mules remained composed and capitalized on key points when it mattered most.
At the top of the lineup,
Seif Ashraf '27 faced a formidable opponent and, after dropping the second game, responded with confidence to secure the match with 11–8 wins in both the third and fourth games.
Hamza Wessam '29 showed resilience after dropping the opening game, playing scrappy and controlled squash to win the next three and claim a four-game victory. In another closely contested match,
Carlos Zendejas '27 prevailed with scores of 14–12, 11–7, 9–11, and 11–9. However, the most hard-fought contest of the day came from senior
Oliver Riordan '26, whose match lasted nearly an hour and saw every game come down to the final points. Riordan showcased exceptional grit and mental toughness, edging his opponent 10–12, 13–11, 11–9, and 14–12.
