Colby’s NESCAC Run Ends Against Top-Seeded Trinity College

Clinton, NY - The Colby Men's Squash Team saw its NESCAC Championship run come to an end in the semifinals, falling 9–0 to top-seeded Trinity College on Saturday.

Ranked number one in both the conference and the nation, Trinity presented a formidable challenge for the Mules. Despite the final scoreline, Colby delivered a number of gritty, competitive performances across the ladder.

At the number six spot, Sebastian Campos '26 opened in impressive fashion, claiming the first game 11–7 before ultimately dropping the next three in a hard-fought four-game battle. Omar Bastawy '29 also pushed his opponent deep into the match. After falling in the opening game, Bastawy responded with a strong 11–8 second-game win and narrowly dropped the third and fourth games by identical 11–9 margins.

Elsewhere in the lineup, several tight games underscored the Mules' resilience. Carlos Zendejas '27 battled to a close 11–9 third game, while Seif Ashraf '27 forced a 15–13 third game against a nationally ranked top-100 opponent, showcasing his ability to compete with some of the country's best.

With the conference tournament behind them, the Mules now turn their focus to the CSA National Championships, which begin February 27th in Philadelphia.
