Philadelphia, PA - In the Hoehn Cup Championship match, the Men's Squash Team came up just short in a thrilling 5–4 battle against top-seeded MIT.
After falling 6–3 to MIT during the regular season, the Mules entered the final determined to flip the script. First-year
Hamza Wessam '29 set the tone early, delivering a clinical 3–0 victory in just 26 minutes against an opponent he had previously battled to five games.
In the opening wave,
Youssef Mostafa '26 delivered one of the matches of the season. After splitting the first two games, Mostafa rose to the moment, grinding out back-to-back 11–9 wins to seal a critical point in a 52-minute marathon.
On the glass court,
Seif Ashraf '27 and
Carlos Zendejas '27 added two more wins to keep the Mules within striking distance. Zendejas rebounded from a tight 12–10 first-game loss to take the next three in dramatic fashion, 11–7, 16–14, 11–3. Ashraf also faced early pressure, battling through a tense 13–11 game before closing out his opponent in straight sets.
Though the Mules ultimately fell just one point short, the performance capped a historic season. The team secured the highest national ranking in program history and proved it can compete toe-to-toe with the nation's best.
