Ripton, Vt. - The Colby College Nordic Ski team closed out the final day of the Middlebury Carnival with the 10k Classic on Saturday. With four skiers in the top-30, the men's team finished third to mark their third team podium of the season. The women's team placed seventh out of the 11 competing teams.
Jack Young was Colby's top finisher, earning his fifth consecutive top-7 result of the season. The senior slid across the line in sixth as the third racer from a Division III institution.
Andrew Defor claimed 12th and
Taiga Moore capped a stellar weekend with his second topo-20 finish in as many days, placing 20th.
Benjamin Lewis made if four skiers in the top-30, placing 30th in the field of over 90 competitors.
Maddie Hooker placed 24th for the women's team, collecting her sixth top-30 result of the season.
Lydia Kraker finished 28th while
Natalie O'Brien rounded out the scoring in 35th.
With one more weekend of racing left in the 2025 EISA season, Colby will take to the trails of Jackson XC for the UNH Carnival this coming weekend. Also serving as the NCAA Eastern Regional Championships, athletes will compete in the 7.5k Classic on Friday followed by the 15k Freestyle Mass Start on Saturday.
