Park City, Utah - U.S. Ski & Snowboard has officially nominated 21 athletes to the 2025-26 Stifel U.S. Cross Country Ski Team roster and Colby's own Jack Young has made the list.

"I am very excited about being nominated," stated Young. "I have known I will make the team for a few months, but it's a great feeling for it to finally be officially announced." 

The senior had stellar performances in the NCAA Championships this past season as well as competing in the World Championships and World Cup. On top of being named to the Men's B Team, Young recently earned the Stifel U.S. Cross Country Ski Teams most improved male award.

"Jack's skiing career at Colby has been remarkable!" said Head Coach of Colby Nordic Skiing Tracey Cote. "To see him racing World Cups and World Championships while maintaining his collegiate racing and high academic status, speaks volumes about his work ethic.  Jack is an incredible leader and has set a new standard for the success you can achieve as a Colby skier.  We are so excited to watch his career with the US Ski Team and will always be proud to call Jack a Colby Mule!

Young, after graduating from Colby this May, has already got right into action with training in different parts of the country. 

"This summer, I will be returning to Craftsbury, Vt. to train with the Green Racing Project. I have been training there for most of life, and I'm excited to start a new year once I graduate. As for US Ski Team camps, in June, I will be traveling to Alaska for an on snow camp on Eagle Glacier. In October, there is a camp in Park City, Utah. Other than that, I will just be in Craftsbury until the season starts. For the competition season, I will be competing on the World Cup circuit all winter with the goal of qualifying for the Olympics." 

The 2025-26 FIS Cross Country World Cup calendar will be confirmed by the International Ski Federation in June 2025, including the official announcement of the Stifel World Finals at the end of the season in Lake Placid, New York. 

An official Stifel U.S. Cross Country Ski Team announcement will be made in the early fall.
