Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams are set to begin the 2024-25 season hosting the Elm City Classic this weekend. On top of this two-day event, a handful of Mules will head to Boston Univerisity's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on December 7th.
Dave Cusano returns as Head Coach to led the team once again now entering his tenth year. He is accompanied by the Assistant Head Track and Field Power Coach
Troy Irvine who joined the team ahead of the 2019-20 season and
Tanner Burton '22 returning for his second year on the coaching staff.
The women's team will be led by three seniors this season in
Erin Daugherty,
Fiona Mejico and
Kristina Pizzi who all look to add more accolades to their career achievements. The team is joined by a group of seven new first-years who will look to make an impact on the program. On the men's side, they are led by a group of five seniors;
Hayden Bailey,
Markus Christie,
Peter Martel,
Myles Thornton-Sherman and
Ren Zanze. They are also joined by seven new first years.
Coming off the fall cross country season, the track & field distance runners will be led by Head Coach
Jared Beers '01 who is now in his 20th year with the Mules. He is assisted by
Catie Riley '21 who joined the coaching staff to begin the 2021-22 academic year. The same men's and women's roster remains from the cross country season with two new members joining the squad
Ciaran Groom and
Zachary Gellert.
The Elm City Classic will begin at 4:00pm Friday afternoon and continue on Saturday starting at 9:00am. Fans can follow alongside the action using the
live video link.
In Boston, Mass. on Saturday Maddie Bush,
Henry Reichle,
Thomas Speltz,
Stephen White and
