Troy Irvine

Troy Irvine came to Colby in the 2019-2020 academic year as an assistant coach of the Track & Field teams, with responsibilities of coaching vertical jumps, horizontal jumps, the multi events, and the throws. In the summer of 2023 Irvine was promoted to the Assistant Head Coach position.

In his first indoor season with Colby, he earned regional honors as the New England Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year, due to his success coaching both the vertical and horizontal jumps. In 2022 he was recognized again with the same honor, earning the award twice in his first three years with the Mules. 

Irvine previously coached at the University of Maine and Central Michigan University. He has coached NCAA Division I Championship qualifiers, Canadian Olympic Trial Qualifiers, an Israel National Medalist, and numerous conference champions and scorers.

Irvine is USTFCCCA certified in Strength and Conditioning. He is a graduate of the University of Maine, with a Master of Education in Exercise Physiology. He also competed for their track and field program, where he is the former school record holder in the pole vault and the heptathlon. Irvine is a native of Waterville, Maine.
