Box Score Lewiston, Maine - The Colby Men's Tennis team completed their 2023-24 fall season over the weekend at the Wallach Invitational hosted by Bates College. Colby was well-represented with three players in the A singles draw, three players in the B singles draw, and three doubles teams in the doubles flight. The Mules took on opponents from Bowdoin, Trinity, and Bates.

Joey Barrett had an impressive weekend, making it all the way to the A flight singles final before falling to Reid Staples of Bowdoin by a score of 5-7, 6-7(5). First-Year
Sandeep Alapati also made it to the B flight singles final, before losing a close match to a Bowdoin opponent, 6-4, 1-6, 0-1(7).Â

Jake Cohen won their first round matches by scores of 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(1) and 7-6(8), 6-0 respectively. In the B singles flight, first-year
Paul Dandler made his way to the semi-finals, taking down Bates and Trinity players.

In doubles play, Barrett and Dandler advanced to the finals, taking down Bowdoin and Bates opponents before losing a close match 8-6.

Alapati commented on the weekend, saying, "The team and I had a great showing this past weekend at Bates, where we made deep runs into both the singles and doubles draws. Our team atmosphere was miles above others and it was exhilarating to compete one last time this fall."

The Mules will return to action this spring for the dual team season.
