Men's Tennis Show Grit in Clash with Caltech

Pasadena, Calif. - The Colby Men's Tennis team stayed in Southern California for a mid-week clash, taking on the Caltech Beavers. The Mules faced a tough opponent, falling 6-1 pushing their overall record to 2-4 this season.

Colby once again showed strength at the top of the doubles lineup, as Jason Daly and Marco Ziets-Segura remained undefeated on the trip with a 6-3 win at the No. 1 position. Caltech, however, took the matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to claim the opening point.

In singles, Diego Sosa provided the lone point for the Mules at the No. 4 spot, putting together a clinical 6-4, 7-5 victory over Tejas Ram. Several other matches were highly competitive: Jason Daly pushed the #28 ranked player in the country, Constantin Cedillo, to a second-set tiebreaker (2-6, 6-7), and Antonio Lee battled into a third-set 10-point tiebreaker before falling at the No. 5 position.

Next on the schedule, the Mules will head to Thousand Oaks to face California Lutheran University on Thursday, March 26.
