Mules Fall to #16 Pomona-Pitzer in Final California Test

Claremont, Calif. - The Colby College Men's Tennis team wrapped up its intensive spring break road trip in Southern California on March 27, facing off against nationally-ranked Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont.

The Mules faced a formidable challenge against the Sagehens, ultimately falling 6-1. In doubles play, Colby fought hard across all three positions though the Sagehens managed to sweep the opening point. In singles action, Jason Daly provided the highlight for the Mules at the No. 1 position, securing a gritty 7-6, 6-1 victory over his opponent. Matthew Jeong also pushed his opponent to the limit at the No. 6 spot, taking the match to a 10-point tiebreaker before narrowly falling 7-5, 6-7, 10-5.

With the Golden State trip now concluded, the Mules return home to Maine to prepare for NESCAC play, starting with a match against Bates College on April 4. Colby will remain in the Pine Tree State for their next six matches.
