Middlebury, VT - The Colby College Men's Tennis Team was defeated by the Middlebury Panthers by a score of 8-1 on Saturday, April 30th. The Mules, still down two starting players due to Covid-19 in #1 singles and #3 doubles player

Ben Powis, fell behind in doubles after losing at the #1 and #3 positions.
Sam Henry and
Max Schuermann came up big for the Mules with a 8-5 win at #2 doubles to give the Mules a point.
In the singles, the Mules fell at each position, but there were some highlights. Usually at the #2 singles position,
Joey Barrett slotted in at #1 and took one of the top players in Division 3 Tennis to a third set 10-point tiebreaker, ultimately falling 6-3, 2-6, 2-10. Henry had a very close back and forth battle at #4 singles, with strong play from the baseline. He fell 7-5, 6-4 in a high quality affair.
