Waterville, ME - The Colby College Men's Tennis Team downed visiting Connecticut College by a score of 9-0 on Saturday, April 9th. The win is the second NESCAC win for the Mules in three matches, after losing a hard fought battle to Amherst last weekend. In a strong performance, Sam Henry and Max Schuermann were the first doubles pairing to finish, defeatiing their opponents 8-2 to put up the first point on the board for the Mules at the #2 position. Joey Barrett and Jake Cohen continued their strong doubles season with an 8-2 win at the #1 position while Jan Wenger and James Bogdanovic gave the Mules a clean sweep of doubles with an 8-3 win at #3. 

In the singles, the Mules won all of their matches, with the lineup debut of Sriram Das being a highlight of the day. Das made a statement with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the #6 position. Schuermann scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at the #4 position while Wenger, Barrett, and Cohen also scored straight sets wins at the #1, #2, and #3 positions respectively. The closest match was at the #5 position, with Bogdanovic defeating his opponent 11-9 in a third set 10 point tiebreaker after firing a passing shot winner to save a matchpoint. 

It was also Senior Day for Max Schuermann, the lone senior on the Men's Team. "I feel so lucky to be apart of this team," said Schuermann. "This is a special group of guys and I am so excited to just keep working hard and having fun."
