Redlands, CA - It was a huge day for the Colby Men's Tennis Team as they snagged their best ever win in program history over the University of Redlands Bulldogs, the #17 ranked team in the country, on Wednesday, March 23. For the second day in a row, the Mules left the doubles ahead 2-1, with another win for James Bogdanovic and Jan Wenger at the #3 position and a win for Joey Barrett and Jake Cohen at the #1 position. 

In the singles, Max Schuermann was the first to finish and push the Mules to 3 points on the board with a clean 6-2, 6-2 win at the #4 position. With all matches still competing and no clear direction in momentum for either team, all eyes turned to the #5 and #6 singles matches, with Sam Henry and Bogdanovic locked in tight second sets. With Wenger falling at the #1 position and Cohen and Barrett heading closer to third sets, Henry came up big for the Mules to slam a backhand volley winner to notch a 6-4, 6-3 win. With the scoreboard at 4-2, Bogdanovic grinded out a marathon final game to clinch the match for the Mules 5-2. Cohen gave the Mules extra cushioning with a brilliantly played final set 10-point tiebreak win to boost the Mules to 6-2. Barrett would eventually fall in a tight third set tiebreaker, ending the final score at 6-3 to the Colby College Mules.

"Very proud of the boys today," said Bogdanovic. "We got one of the better wins in program history, so it's great to see the hard work paying off. CalTech next. Let's go blue. Let's go Mules"
