Cambridge, MA - Colby Men's Tennis was beaten by MIT by a score of 6-3 on Saturday, March 12. It was the first match of the season for the Mules and despite strong performances from Sophomore
Joey Barrett and Freshman
Jake Cohen, the Mules could not get past the finish line in today's tightly contested match.
Highlights of the day included a first doubles win by Barrett and Cohen, followed by Barrett's straight set singles win at the #2 position and Cohen's epic win with a dominant 6-0 scoreline in the final third set to win his #3 singles match. Senior
Max Schuermann took his opponent to three sets at the #4 singles position, but was defeated 6-4 in the final set.
"Tough match today, but the team took away a lot of things to work on that we will use to get better with each and every match," said Schuermann. "We are excited to keep improving and look forward to a great full season ahead."
The Mules next play at Brandeis University at 10 am on Sunday March 13th. Look for updates on the Colby Tennis Twitter and the Athletics page.
