Brockport, NY - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) selected the Division III National Academic team on March 16th, 2021. In order to be recognized for this award a play must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The fall semester was, no doubt, difficult. Athletes had to adapt to new methods of teaching, living on campus during a pandemic, and practicing with very long term goals in mind. This year, over 2,050 field hockey players made the Division III NFHCA National Academic squad, pulling from 140 Division III institutions.
The Colby Field Hockey team had 16 members earn the award and 2 have earned it all four years.

Coach Kelly Terwilliger was very excited about the honor many of her players earned. She said of the honor, "The NFHCA National Academic Squad is a team you want to be a part of! Our student-athletes work extremely hard on and off the field of competition. We are very impressed with our sixteen athletes named to the team as it is a reflection of the caliber of young women we have in our program. We are extremely proud of all of them who persevered in a unique academic year, remained balanced and focused on the importance of achieving a high-standard of academic success." The hard work is being put in on and off the field and with so many members of the team earning this award is representative of that hard work paying off.
