LEWISTON, Maine -- Vlad Murad fought back for a win at second singles for the 29th-ranked Colby College men's tennis team in a 7-2 loss at 40th-ranked Bates College on Wednesday.
The Bobcats took two of the three doubles matches to get out to an early lead in the match. Zale Shah and Scott Altmeyer won 8-3 at third doubles for Colby.
Murad had a tough match against second singles player Chris Ellis and fell 7-6 in the opening set. However, the Colby senior pulled out back-to-back 6-4 victories to earn the match.
