Hockey player Rudolf earns NESCAC Player of the Week honor

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College junior forward Michael Rudolf (Risch, Switzerland), who helped the men's hockey team to a 1-0-1 week, was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Rudolf played a part in three of Colby's goals in a 4-4 overtime tie with Wesleyan University on Saturday. He scored early in the third period to give the Mules a 3-2 lead and had assists on the team's first and fourth goals. Rudolf also won 14-of-22 face-off attempts in the contest.
 

Against then 12th-ranked Trinity College on Friday, Rudolf was was 8-for-15 on face-off attempts in a 3-1 victory.

Rudolf has 12 goals and eight assists for 20 career points. He has two goals and two assists in conference games this year.
 

The Mules, with the big weekend, are back in the United States Collegiate Hockey Online national poll as the 14th-ranked team in the country. Colby (6-4-2 overall, 5-3-2 NESCAC) will play at University of Southern Maine on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
