Hartford, Conn. - The Colby College Men's Ice Hockey team faced the Bantams of Trinity College on Saturday afternoon. While Colby tied the game after trailing in the first, the Bantams capitalized in the third period and finished with a 5-1 win over the Mules in their second match-up of the season. The Mules now stand 9-11-2 overall and 5-10-1 in the NESCAC.
In the first period, Trinity took the lead at 14:33, while the Mules found 20 shots on net over the Bantams 15. Sophomore
Massimo Gentile tied the game in the second period with a short-handed goal, Colby's second of the season, assisted by senior
Connor Gallagher. As the Mules fought hard to find their first lead of the game, the Bantams scored four unanswered goals in the third period, while out shooting Colby 12 to four. Sophomore
Cooper Rautenstrauch recorded 29 saves in the game.
The Mules return home Friday against Tufts at 7pm.
