Waterville, Maine - The Colby Men's Lacrosse team will begin their 2026 season on the road this Saturday February, 28th facing the top ranked team in Division III, the Tufts Jumbos. The Mules will look to upset the Jumbos and end the two-time defending national champions 28 game win streak.
This year Colby is led by a senior class of five;
Will Heisler,
Preston Maze,
Matt Murer,
Nick Sokolosky, and
Cormac Wright. The team is joined by a large first-year class of 21 who will look to make an impact on the program right away.
Be on the lookout for junior
Gavin Rothenberg this season who averaged the seventh most goals per game in the NESCAC last season with 2.5 while leading the Mules in total goals (30) and points (40).
Easton Bello and
Will Steele return to the roster as well who both contributed double-digit scoring last season tallying 13 and 12 goals. Defensively, goalkeeper Heisler had the most saves per game in the conference last year averaging 15.36.
Jake Bernhardt, the Jack Sandler Memorial Men's Lacrosse Head Coach, is now entering his third season with the team. He is once again assisted by Dobson Cooper and Hunter Gervais.
