Waterville, Maine - Welcome to Colby Athletics' summer spotlight series, where we take a look into what Colby student-athletes are working on over the summer break. Up next we have rising senior Lydia Mordarski of Colby Women's Basketball. 

This summer Lydia has been working at Morrissey, Hawkins & Lynch, a small law firm located in the heart of Boston's Financial District. The firm specializes in a range of practices areas, including Estate Planning, Civil Litigation, Construction Law, Business Planning, Real Estate, and Taxation. As a Law Clerk, Lydia has had the opportunity to draft demand letters, sit in on client calls and hearings, and assist with client communication. It's been a hands-on experience that has given her a deeper understanding of what a career in law looks like on a day-to-day basis.

In addition to Lydia's internship, she is also preparing to take the LSAT in August and is currently taking a class to get ready. The attorneys at the firm have been incredibly supportive, offering Lydia study tips and guidance based on their own experiences.

"It's been very motivating to be surrounded by professionals who are so passionate about what they do," stated Mordarski. "Working here has helped confirm that this is the path I want to pursue."
