Hadley, Mass. - Adding on to her 2024 NESCAC Rookie of the Year award, including a spot on the 2024 All-Conference second team,
Kate Olenik of Colby Women's Basketball has been named to the All-NESCAC First Team for the 2024-25 season.
Olenik had an impactful season while helping lead the team to the conference championship game for just the second time in program history. The sophomore guard played in 25 of the 26 games for the Mules averaging 35.4 minutes per game. Over the course of the season Olenik totaled a whopping 490 points, good for a 19.6 points per game average with an impressive .483 shooting percentage. She also grabbed a new career high in points with 32 in a 65-60 win over Amherst on January 31st. Olenik has already netted 858 career points after just two seasons of play. Other stat lines from this year include 135 rebounds, 62 assists, 49 steals and seven blocks.
Compared to the rest of the NESCAC, Olenik finished second in total points, fourth in shooting percentage, fourth in total steals and 10th in total assists.
Olenik and the rest of the Colby Women's Basketball team will back in action next winter in hopes for another postseason run.
