Waterville, Maine – The Mules delivered a strong all-around performance at the 2025 Pine Tree Classic, held at Harold Alfond Stadium on April 18–19. Both the men's and women's teams earned multiple victories and demonstrated impressive depth across the board.
Men's Highlights
The Mules were led by standout sprinter
Ian Irwin, who captured first place in the 100 Meter Dash with a blistering time of 10.61 seconds, with teammate
Peter Martel close behind in third (10.87). In the 400 Meter Dash,
Ren Zanze and
Levi Biery secured second and third place finishes, clocking 49.76 and 50.03 respectively. Colby also had a strong showing in the 800 Meter Run, where Sam Graubart (1:57.32),
Kevin Gustafson (1:58.02), and
Jackson Coelho (1:59.02) all placed within the top ten out of thirty-seven runners. In the decathlon,
Alex Lyon contributed a solid third-place finish with 4498 points.
In Men's 1500, Henry Riechle led the charge in third place with 3:52.81, followed by
Thomas Speltz (3:56.45) and Steve White (3:56.59) in sixth and seventh place, respectively.
Women's Highlights
The women's team dominated the relays, winning the 4x100 Meter Relay (47.34), the 4x400 Meter Relay (3:54.29), and the 4x800 Meter Relay (10:31.70), sweeping the baton events. In sprints,
Ellie Wang and
Charlotte Brake-Hoffman secured second and third in the 100 Meter Dash, with times of 12.76 and 12.78. Wang also earned a second-place finish in the 200 Meters with a time of 26.91. Middle-distance runners
Olivia Doherty,
Michelle Barnes, and Maddie Bush filled the top five in the 800 Meter Run, all running under 2:21. In the field, Gabby Bresnick tied for fifth in the Pole Vault, clearing 9'8.25".
In Women's 5000m run,
Emily Jeon led the women's XC contingent with a time of 19:47.90 in second place, followed closely by
Bridget Meehan (19:50.82) and
Abby Souza (19:55.94) in third and fourth place, respectively.
With the regular season nearing its final stretch, Colby will soon be in Middletown, Conn. for the NESCAC Championships on Saturday, April 26.
