The Colby Mules continue to put up great performances at the NESCAC Swimming and Diving Championships held at Middlebury College. Junior
Brandon Xiong was the standout for Colby on the second day of the meet as he qualified for finals in both the 50 Backstroke and 50 freestyle. He finished third in the backstroke to earn all NESCAC honors as well as finishing 7th in the freestyle.
Ivan Knoepflmacher kept his strong season going as well and finished 6th in 1 M Diving.
The meet started out on Thursday with the 800 Freestyle relay where the Mules team of
Alexander MacLennan,
Carson Rehkopf,
Spencer Cohen and
Brandon Morrison put up the second fastest time ever swum for Colby. On Friday multiple members of the team qualified to swim in finals in the 50 breaststroke, 50 Butterfly, 50 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle.
Noam Reinhorn put up the 7th fastest time in school history in the breaststroke while
Brandon Morrison and
Skylar Yoham did the 4th and 10th fastest time in school history in the butterfly. In the freestyle
Ethan Chang and
Michael Fiechter continued the additions with the 7th and 10 fastest times.Â
Colby currently sits in 9th place with 302.5 pts and Competition continues on Saturday and Sunday.
