Waterville, Maine - At the end of day four to conclude the 2025 NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, the Mules finished in fourth place out of the 11 conference schools totaling 1,112 team points, the most in school history. Amherst just edge out third place with 1,117 points, a mire five points ahead of Colby. Williams took the crown after tallying 1,831 team points.
Eliza Marco continued to be strong in her events taking fourth in the 100 Freestyle (51.27).
Kellen Mottl also had a great individual performance in the 200 Breaststroke placing fifth (2:19.47). To conclude all events, the 400 Freestyle Relay consisting of Marco,
Zoe Buzzelli,
Gabriella Landau,
Lily Moy grabbed a fourth place finishing and set a new school record (3:26.29).
With the Women's Swimming and Diving Championships now complete the Men will have their turn with their conference championship hosted this week at Middlebury starting Thursday February 20th.
Day 2 Recap
The Mules began Friday night with the 200 freestyle relay team, consisting of Marco,
Moy, Lucy Mackey and
Landau, setting a new school record (1:34.29) and taking third place to earn All-NESCAC recognition.
In the next event, Mottl also breaking a school record (28.65) took the silver in the 50 breaststroke to earn herself a spot on the All-NESCAC team. Other individual results include Marco finishing second in the 50 freestyle to earn her second All-Conference award of the night while Landau, in the 50 backstroke, finished just outside the top-3 in fourth place. With a time of 25.35 Landau sets a new school record.
In the final event of the evening, the 400 medley relay, the Mules grabbed another podium finish in third with a team consisting of
Alexis Coates, Mottl,
Lexi Asch and Marco to add to their teams All-NESCAC awards. The time of 3:45.24 sets yet another school record.
Day 3 Recap
The 200 medley relay got things started for the Mules grabbing a podium and All-NESCAC third place result with a time of 1:41.95 for a new school record. The relay consisted of
Tahlia Crowley, Mottl, Landau, and Marco. Later in the evening Mottl competed in the 100 breaststroke placing 5th overall with a time of 1:03.16.
Coates had a great performance in the 100 backstroke (56.12) taking the silver medal to earn All-Conference recognition. To conclude Saturday's events,
Avery Rappaport took fifth in the three meter dive scoring 444 points.
