The Colby Men's Squash team was outmatched by the Engineers in a tight 6–3 battle on Saturday afternoon.
On the road to Boston for the second weekend in a row, the Mules faced a very strong MIT squad. To set the tone early,
Seif Ashraf '27 opened the match with an impressive 3–2 victory at the No. 1 spot. In a grueling 75-minute contest, Ashraf traded games throughout before closing out the win with composure and precision.
First-year
Hamza Wessam '29 followed with his first collegiate victory, earning a strong 3–2 win at No. 3 after holding steady in another back-and-forth battle.
In the final match of the day,
Youssef Mostafa '26 secured Colby's third point, prevailing in a 68-minute five-game thriller. The scores reflected just how tight the contest was: 11–6, 10–12, 9–11, 11–9, 9–11.
The Mules also saw a hard-fought effort from
Sebastian Campos '26, who pushed his opponent to five games before ultimately falling in a close decision.
Colby continues their road trip tomorrow as they travel to Middletown, Connecticut, to take on Wesleyan in their first NESCAC contest of the season.
