Steamboat Springs, Colo. - The Colby Nordic Ski team finished the 2024 NCAA Skiing Championships Saturday placing 15th in the women's classic and tied for 15th in the men's classic.
Gretta Scholz paced a remarkable race in the 20k distance event, moving from 34th position to 27th on the fourth and final lap. She finished 12th for eastern skiers and fourth for Division III. The race that lasted just over an hour was won by Jasmine Drolet of Dartmouth.

Jack Young placed 31st and 34th respectively in the men's race. Nemeth was the 11th eastern racer and 3rd Division III athlete to cross the line, while Young was the 13th eastern racer and 4th Division III athlete. Magnus Boee from the University of Colorado won the event in 55 minutes.
Combining the four Nordic events with the four alpine events, the Mules placed 14th overall at the championships out of the 23 qualifying schools. Middlebury was the top Division III school in 10th while Bowdoin finished 16th, St. Lawrence 17th, Plymouth State 21st, Bates 22nd, and Williams 23rd. The top-three teams all came from the western region as scholarship universities Colorado, Utah, and Denver held down the podium.
The NCAA Skiing Championships will be back in the eastern region in 2025 hosted by Dartmouth College.
