Craftsbury, VT - The final day of the UVM carnival was the 10k skate individual start at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. The racers were greated with a few inches of fresh, fluffy snow on the course, which definitely made for slightly slower conditions.
Once again, the women were led by
Lola Villafranco who finished in 25th place, followed by
Natalie O'Brien in 41st,
Lydia Kraker in 46th, and
Sarah Glueck in 51st. This guided the women to a 6th place finish as a team on the day.
The men were led by first-year
James Underwood in 6th place who also made his way onto the junior podium.
Ben Lewis closed out a strong weekend finishing in 16th.
Ellis Slover had a career best 23rd place finish.
Bridger Stiles also had a great race finishing in 34th, and
Simon Goldstein continued on his hot trend with his best distance result finishing in 44th. As a team the men finished in 4th place.
Next weekend the Mules will be racing at Prospect Mountain in Woodford, VT for the Williams Carnival where they will race in a 10k skate, and a 3x5k classic relay.
