Hanover, NH - The Nordic teams were competing at the Dartmouth Carnival this weekend. Friday's race was the 7.5k classic interval start and it was another frigid weekend.
The women raced first and had their best team finish of the season to date, finishing in 5th place and beating the Bowdoin women for the first time this year. They were led by
Lydia Kraker who had a career best 17th place finish, she was followed closely behind by
Lola Villafranco in 20th and
Natalie O'Brien in 21st place.
Margo Nightingale also had a good race, just narrowly missing the top 30 in 32nd.Â
The men were without a couple of their top skiers this weekend due to sickness, so their team score suffered compared to prior weeks, but despite the illnesses they were still able to get three in the top 30 led by
James Underwood in 10th,
Ben Lewis in 20th, and
Matous Matousek in 28th.
Ellis Slover was just knocking on the door of the top 30 in 31st place.Â
