Mules Hit Midway Mark of Carnival Season with Harvard Carnival

Craftsbury, Vt. - A day after a monumental moment when Colby's Men's Nordic Ski team won the opener of the Harvard Carnival, the Mules reached the midpoint in the EISA season with the 7.5k Freestyle.  With three in the top-13 the men slid into second place, and a 6th place finish for the women had the Mules combine for fourth in the Nordic portions of week 3 in the EISA.

With a podium finish narrowly evading him in recent weeks, Jack Young finally made good with a 3rd place finish in Saturday's race.  He was less than a second out of second and only 24 seconds off gold medal in the 16-minute event.  First-years Benjamin Lewis  and Andrew Defor wrapped up Colby's scoring in 12th and 13th respectively, and Zach Nemeth made it four in the top-20 in 19th.

Gretta Scholz made it six in a row as the top Mule on the women's side, finishing 13th.  She has now completed all six races in 14th or better.  Isabel Seay has a string of her own.  After placing 22nd, the senior now has finished 18th, 19th, and 22nd in the last three races.  Natalie was the third finisher for the Mules placing 32nd.

Colby will head to Dartmouth next weekend to open the second half of the EISA circuit with a Skate Sprint and a 15k Classic Mass Start.
