Woodford, Vt. - The Williams Carnival wrapped up Saturday with Freestye Relays. Each school entered two men's teams and two women's teams consisting of three athletes apiece competing for team Carnival points. As a collective, the women's team finished seventh while the men's team placed ninth.
The trio of
Gretta Scholz,
Maddie Hooker, and
Isabel Seay placed 10th, right ahead of
Lola Villafranco,
Natalie O'Brien, and
Rose Clayton who finished 13th. On the men's side,
Andrew Defor teamed with
Zach Nemeth and
Benjamin Lewis to come in 10th. The group of
Matous Matousek (headline photo),
Taiga Moore, and
Isak Nightingale slid int 18th place.
"We definitely gave it our best today," said Nordic Skiing Head Coach
Tracey Cote. "We've trained hard and its a long season. We're looking for some quality rest early this week, heading into the final carnival at Middlebury with a healthy and fast team."
EISA Carnival season concludes this coming weekend in Riptn, Vt. for the sixth and final stage of the circuit.
