Woodford, Vt. - The Colby Nordic Ski teams opened competition at the Williams Carnival Friday with the 10k Classic.  The women's team made it four races in a row placing 6th in the 11-team field while the men's team was a bit off their normal pace, coming in 8th.  

Five Colby skiers made their way into the top-30 with Zach Nemeth leading the charge in 14th.  Taiga Moore and Benjamin Lewis joined him on the men's side with 28th and 29th places respectively.  For the women, Gretta Scholz raced into 20th position with Maddie Hooker close behind in 28th.  Lola Villafranco (headline photo) provided the third scorer for the Colby women, finishing 38th.  

The Mules are back in action Saturday for the 5k Skate Relay.
