Waterville, Maine - Colby College Men's Track and Field hosted their first meet of the season, competing against Saint Joseph's College of Maine, Thomas College, and the University of Maine at Farmington. The Mules dominated the event, earning a total score of 172.5 points to secure a first-place finish and a strong start to the season.
The Mules claimed victory in six of the sixteen events.Â
Liam McGoldrick led the way, securing first place in Men's Mile, finished in 4:28.32, and won the Distance Medley Relay along with
Alex Bingham, Nate Goodman, and
Hugh McGuire, combining for a winning time of 11:20.33.
Ian Irwin added another win for Colby in the 60 Meters race, finishing in 7.11 second. In the field events,
Peter Martel excelled in the Pole Vault, clearing 4.75m to take first place.Â
While hosting the home meet in Waterville, four Mules competed in Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday in the one mile run event.
Henry Reichle placed 48th followed by
Eli Ziegler in 51st,
Stephen White in 54th and
Thomas Speltz in 56th.Â
The Mules looks ahead to the new year with their next competition scheduled for January 17th, when they will participate in the Bates Invitational in Lewiston, Maine.
