Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Men's Ice Hockey team is prepared to kickoff the 2024-25 season Friday night in Williamstown, Mass against the Ephs of Williams College. Last years battle between the two teams resulted in a 3-3 overtime draw as the Ephs have yet to beat the Mules since 2021.
Colby is coming off a 9-12-4 overall record last season where they made it into the NESCAC Tournament as the eighth seed. The top seeded Trinity Bantams took care of the Mules in a tight 2-1 quarterfinal round matchup to end Colby's season.

Jayden Grier (eight goals) returns for his sophomore season as fellow sophomore
Matthew MacDonald also returns to the team who ranked third in points last year (three goals, 10 assists). Other double digit point performers from last season returning to the team include;
Tyler Crist '26 (four goals, eight assists),
Jake MacDonald '25 (four goals, seven assists), and
Dhillon Wilde '27 (three goals, seven assists). On the defensive side of the puck, senior
Max O'Brien will be back in action after totaling 37 blocked shots last year to go along with five assists. With three year starting goalkeeper
Andy Beran graduating last year we will wait to see who will take his place in the cage this season.
Colby will be led by senior captain
Nick Stapleton alongside assistant captains Crist and O'Brien. The team is joined by nine first-years looking to make an impact on the program.

Blaise MacDonald returns as The Jack Kelley Head Coach for Colby Men's Hockey for his 13th season. He will be assisted by
Cam MacDonald in his first season with the Mules after being an assistant coach at fellow NESCAC school Amherst since 2021.
Mike Latendresse also returns who joined Colby to start the 2013-14 season as well as
Pertti Hasanen in his fifth year.
