Box Score Gorham, Maine - The Colby College Field Hockey team played University of Southern Maine on Sunday afternoon. The Mules scored early in the game and held their lead for the full 60 minutes, coming out on top in the end. Colby now stands 6-5 overall on their season.
Colby started off their scoring with a tip in from
Catherine McNulty on a feed from
Lily Conway on a penalty corner less than five minutes into the game.
Bridget Everett then found her fifth goal of the season as she scored off of the Mules' first penalty stroke of the game. The Huskies found their first goal of the game late in the second quarter, but
Elizabeth Takoudes scored off a pass from
Christina Sweeney with a minute left in the second, giving the Mules a 3-1 lead at halftime. USM came out hard to start the third quarter, scoring a second goal to cut Colby's lead in half.
McKay Allain then found the back of the net twice in the remainder of the game, increasing her season total to four goals. The Mules earned a second penalty stroke of the game with ten minutes to play, and
Hadley Swenson earned her first goal of the season off of the stroke.
Harri Baker tallied seven saves in total in the game.
Colby is back in action at home on Saturday at 11am.
