Brunswick, Maine- The Colby College Women's Track and Field Team competed in the Bowdoin Invitational against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears, the Colby-Sawyer College Chargers, and the Merrimack College Warriors. The Mules bested all three teams to come in first place with the Polar Bears coming in second, the Chargers coming in third, and the Warriors coming in fourth.
Colby finished the meet with 221.5 points, while Bowdoin finished with 131.5 points, Colby-Sawyer finished with 56 points, and Merrimack finished with 10 points. In addition to the overall win the Mules came in first place in 12 of their events. For track events, Freshman
Tally Zeller won the Women's 60 Meters while
Fiona Mejico got the win in the Women's 200 Meters. In the Women's 400 Meters Freshman
Olivia Doherty bested her two Bowdoin competitors for the win. The Women's 600 Meters was won by
Kristina Pizzi while
Grace Doherty won the Women's 800 meters.
Anna Mackey crossed the finish line four seconds before her competitors to get the victory in the Women's 1000 Meters and
Margo Kenyon had the ten-second lead in the Women's Mile.
Claire Beebe got first in the Women's 3000 meters with a minute margin of victory and
Erin Daugherty earned a victory in the Women's 60 hurdles. For the field events,
Isabel Llach represented the Mules with a win in the Women's High Jump.
Next Saturday, January 21st, the Colby College Women's Track and Field Team will travel to Norton, Massachusetts to compete in the Wheaton Invitational.
