Middlebury, VT- Colby Golf traveled to Middlebury over the weekend (September 10-11) to compete in the the 38
th annual Duke Nelson Invitational at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The Mules came in 23rd out of 24 teams, finishing in front of Norwich University and right behind Bates College.
Nick Stapleton had a standout weekend for Colby Golf. He scored a 90 on Saturday and very impressive 74 on Sunday, combining for 164 stroked during the 36 hole weekend. Stapleton finished 22 stroked over par, but wasn't the only impressive golfer for the Mules. Ryan Harper finished only five total strokes higher than Stapleton. Harper scored an 88 on Saturday and an 81 on Sunday, combining for 36 hole score of 169 (28 over par). Henry Molsen,
Griffin Grise, and
Jack Sullivan were the remaining competitors for the Mules and all finished within five strokes of each other. Molson scored a 179, Grise a 178, and Sullivan a 179.
Colby College Golf plays next on Saturday, September 17th, at Thomas College. The match takes begins at 11:00 AM at Waterville Country Club.
