Clermont, Florida- The Mules Softball Team continued their schedule down in Florida yesterday by finishing their game against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from Thursday, and then playing Carleton College and Buffalo State. Colby was looking to bounce back into the win columns after facing tough opponents in their previous games.

Colby's game against Massachusetts Institute of Technology started on Thursday, March 24, but would be stopped due to weather after the fifth inning. Before the game was stopped, The Mules were fighting a 4-0 deficit heading into the fifth inning.
Amanda Cabral came up to bat with the bases loaded, and hit a double, clearing the bases and brining the mules within one run.
Morgan Fusco brought in the tying run on an RBI single. The game would be paused at a 4-4 tie due to weather and be finished the next morning, starting at the bottom of the fifth inning. MIT was able to score in the fifth inning, giving them a 5-4 lead that held for the rest of the game.

In the first full game of the day, Colby played Carleton College, with
Abby Orso getting the start for the Mules. Colby got on the scoreboard in the first inning, with
Morgan Fusco drawing a bases-loaded walk to give the Mules a 1-0 lead. Colby continued to add onto their lead in the second inning, with
Chloe Wilcox and
Logan Luebbe hitting RBIs to help add onto the Mules' lead. The Mules were able to take advantage of fielding errors by the Knights, scoring three runs on errors. Colby would finish the game winning 7-0, with
Abby Orso striking out five batters in 3.0 innings and
Payton Crowley pitching 4.0 innings to earn the win.
Grace Gouin led the game with a game-high two hits on the day.

In the final game of the day, the Mules played Buffalo State.
Sam Ahlholm pitched 5.0 for the Mules and struck out two batters in the 11-3 win. Colby jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after one inning, with Cabral getting another RBI and
Liv Menyo driving in her first RBI of the season. Colby continued to add onto their lead, despite Buffalo being able to score three runs of their own. The offense for the Mules took over the game, with over half of their lineup getting at least one RBI. The game would only need five innings before it would be called, securing the 11-3 win for the Mules.
Amanda Cabral led the game with four RBIs,
Jackie Hill registered two hits and an RBI, and
Chloe Wilcox had three at bats, three hits, and three runs scored in the win.

Colby plays again today at 10:15 AM against The College at Old Westbury and 12:30 PM against Elmhurst University in their final games in Clermont, Florida.
