Clermont, Florida- The Colby Softball Team played in their last set of two games down in Florida today. The Mules played against The College at Old Westbury in game one, and Elmhurst University in game two of the day. The Mules would end up splitting the last games of their trip with a win over Old Westbury and losing a tough battle against Elmhurst.

Carrying momentum from their strong wins the day before, the Mules jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning.
Chloe Wilcox,
Logan Luebbe,
Abby Orso,
Jackie Hill, and
Erika Macleod all hitting RBIs to score Mules. Old Westbury was able to score one run against the Mules, but the offensive power showcased in the first inning would be no match for Old Westbury. The Mules also had strong pitching performances in the five-inning win.
Amanda Cabral pitched 2.0 innings, striking out two batters and
Abby Orso pitches 3.0 innings, striking out six, and earning the win. The Mules would take their first game of the day with a strong 7-1 win.

The Mules played against Elmhurst University in their final game of the day, with
Sam Ahlholm getting the start. Elmhurst got on the board early against the Mules, but Ahlholm was able to keep the Mules in the game, pitching 6.0 innings and striking out five batters. Colby's first two runs came in the fifth inning with
Chloe Wilcox and
Morgan Fusco both hitting RBIs. Colby then added onto their lead in the sixth when a ball passed by the Elmhurst catcher, allowing
Jackie Hill to score from third base. The Mules would go into the bottom of the seventh inning up 3-1 over Elmhurst, where they were able to score three runs taking a 4-3 win over the Mules.

The Mules next play on Wednesday, March 30, in Waterville, Maine at the Softball Complex against the University of New England. The Mules will play in a doubleheader against the Nor'easters, with games slated to start at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
