Bianco places 4th on Day Two of St. Mike's Carnival

Huntington, Vt. - Colby Nordic carried their momentum in the second day of St Mike's Carnival weekend in Sleepy Hollow. Erin Bianco, senior and captian of the Womens team, placed 4th individually-- just one second away from the podium. She carried the Women to another 4th place team finish, with the Men coming in 7th on day two.

Saturday's classic race was one lap of Sleepy Hollow's 5 kilometer race course. Just one track was set in the snow for the 30 second individual start, allowing racers to put their head down and battle the clock over around 14 minutes of racing. Bianco proved that she is one to beat in her favorite technique, not backing down at any point in the 5 kilometers. "I knew it was a competitive field and times were going to be close so I was really excited to be close to the podium. I am pumped to see how the rest of the season unfolds!" You can count on Bianco to be gunning for those top spots in the races to come.

In the Men's field, Foss Kerker once again prevailed as the top Colby skier, with a few others in the mix 10 seconds behind him. Every second counted for this field's first attempt at the shorter 5 kilometer race-- the top 30 were separated by just a minute. The Men placed 7th overall as a team, not their best result of the season, but motivating for the weekends to come.

The EISA takes a bye week this weekend, as the Mules race the Maine Collegiate Championship at Sugarloaf Nordic Center. Their sights are set on taking home the "Chummy Cup" from Bowdoin. EISA racing will resume on Friday the 4th in Craftstbury, Vt. for the UVM Carnival.
