Morning Sentinel and
Kennebec Journal sports writer Travis Lazarczyk recently offered readers a flashback on the 2000 Colby Football team and their NESCAC Championship season. Legendary Coach Tom Austin guided his program to a 7-1 record and a share of the New England Small College Athletic Conference's (NESCAC) first-ever title. Along the way, Austin was named NESCAC Coach of the Year and garnered the same honor by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston at the Division II/III level. Six team members were named to the NESCAC All-Conference team, including four to the first team.
