A 2002 graduate of Colby, Danny Noyes enters his seventh year in an administrative role in the 2026-27 academic year and first as Deputy Director of Athletics for Competitive Success. In this role, he serves as the sport supervisor for 15 of Colby's 32 varsity teams, and oversees Colby's Peak Performance program as well as the department's communications efforts. A member of the 2000 NESCAC Championship Football team while a student-athlete, Noyes returned to Mayflower Hill in 2007 as the head coach of Alpine Skiing, holding the position until his transition into administration in the fall of 2019.
During his 12-year tenure leading the Alpine Ski team, Noyes coached the Mules to 12 NCAA Division I All-American awards and 35 USCSCA Academic All-American distinctions. His teams won four Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) Carnivals, and placed in the top-10 in an event at NCAA Championships eighteen times, with 5th place finishes in 2008, 2009, 2014, and 2015.
In conjunction with his coaching responsibilities, Noyes held administrative duties within the Athletic Department with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the faculty liaison program, Mules Against Violence, and as the department liaison to Communications. He also served as the wide receiver coach for the football team for two seasons. Noyes was part of the group that brought webcasting to Colby in 2010, originally with First Team Broadcasting and then through Northeast Sports Network, the current broadcasting partner of Colby Athletics since 2014.
Noyes earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Colby in 2002 and a Master of Education from St. Lawrence University in 2005.
A member of the football team while a student, Noyes won the Bill Millett Award as Colby's "senior athlete who contributed the most to Colby Athletics in his/her four years." As head coach of the Alpine Ski team, he helped guide three of his own athletes to the same distinction. Currently in the Colby record book for five receiving records including career marks for receptions and receiving yards, Noyes was named to the All-NESCAC first team as a junior and senior as well as the New England Division II/III first team the same years presented by the New England Football Writers. As a senior he was named to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week for his performance of nine receptions for 209 yards (Colby record), two touchdowns, and 65 rushing yards en route to a 42-0 victory over Bates.
Noyes currently resides in nearby Augusta with his wife Erin and three children, Anderson, Davis, and Nolan. He is involved in the community as a volunteer for various local youth sports programs.
