Box Score Waterville, ME – The Colby College Women's Basketball team gets payback from their December 4 overtime loss at Bates as they close out the Bobcats 51-44.
GAME NOTES
- The Mules came out looking to avenge their road loss to Bates in December and used a strong first half to help pave the way. Colby came out outscoring Bates 11-5 in the first quarter. Bates would keep it close in the second but Colby was able to take a 24-16 lead at half. Colby would never give up that lead to take a 51-44 home win.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES
Colby had 3 players score in double figures on the night and another was one point shy. Brooke Guiffre (photo insert) and Ainsley Burns led the way for the Mules with 11 points a piece. Guiffre was 4-9 from the field and Burns added six rebounds.
- Alisha Aube pitched in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
- Grace Coutu was one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. She went 3-5 from the field.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE BOBCATS
- Bates was led by Mia Roy who scored 16 points for Bates.
- Meghan Graff was close behind with 15 points shooting 2-3 from three. Graff is second in the conference with 16.3 points per game.
KEY STATS
- Colby was only down once in the game when they were losing by two points at the nine minute mark in the first quarter. Colby's largest lead was 13 points.
- The Mules had 24 points in the paint and 11 points off the bench.
