Whitmyer has 15 saves for field hockey in setback

HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Colby College field hockey team played to a 0-0 halftime tie and goalkeeper Riley Whitmyer made a save on a penalty stroke, but 18th-ranked Trinity College scored two second-half goals in a 2-0 NESCAC victory on Saturday.

The Mules (3-3 overall, 0-3 NESCAC) play at Connecticut College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
By the numbers
* Whitmyer had her best game of the season with 15 saves, including the penalty stroke stop in the second half. She used her pad on the stick side to deflect the shot away. Whitmyer had seven saves in the opening half to keep the game scoreless.
 
* Georgia Cassidy had three of Colby's six shots.
 
* Chandler Solimone scored at 51:09 and Kendall Brown added an insurance score with 2:25 remaining for the Bantams (3-2, 1-2).
