Women's tennis defeats Husson

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Hania Lenderking (pictured) won her first match of the spring season and the Colby College women's tennis team did not give up a game in doubles in a 9-0 non-conference win over Husson University on Thursday.

Colby, ranked 16th in the Northeast Region, improved to 7-3 overall. The Mules play Saturday at Connecticut College at 1 p.m. Husson, playing its only match of the spring, finished the year at 8-4.
 

Lenderking was down 5-2 in the opening set before battling back for a 7-5, 6-1 victory at sixth singles. 

After the 8-0 wins in the doubles matches, Colby's top five singles players only lost three games. Gabriela Venditti improved to a team-best 7-3 in dual meet matches.
